Privacy

This is a pre-launch page for the Pocket Almanac: we're gauging real demand before making the product. Here's everything we collect, in plain language.

The device vs. this website

These are two separate things, and we want the line to stay bright. The Pocket Almanac device contains no tracking and never phones home — the AI, the library, and the maps run entirely on the device, and it makes no connection to us or anyone else unless you choose to connect it to Wi-Fi for updates. This website, like most websites, uses advertising cookies. Everything below is about the website only.

Our own analytics

We record anonymous first-party funnel events — page views, how far you scroll, and clicks on the reserve button. These are tied to a random per-visit session ID, not to your name, email, or any advertising identifier. They exist solely so we can tell whether this product is worth making.

Advertising cookies and Meta

We advertise the Pocket Almanac on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), and this site can use Meta's advertising pixel and cookies. When the pixel is active, we share signals about your interaction with this site with Meta — that you viewed the page, that you clicked the reserve button, and, if you complete a reservation, that a purchase happened. Those signals can include cookie identifiers, hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email address), and ad click IDs (such as the identifier Meta attaches when you arrive from one of our ads). Meta uses this data to deliver and measure our ads, as described in Meta's privacy policy. We use it to learn which ads work; we don't get your identity from it.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), sharing interaction data with an advertising platform like Meta for cross-context behavioral advertising can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, even though no money changes hands and we never hand anyone your name. You have the right to opt out.

To opt out, email privacy@groundwavesupply.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share". We'll exclude your information from advertising data sharing and confirm by reply. You can also limit this yourself by using your browser's third-party-cookie blocking or an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control. We don't charge for, or discriminate against, opt-out requests, and our own anonymous funnel analytics (above) don't identify you either way.

If you place a deposit

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We receive and store your email address and a payment reference so we can contact you about the launch and process refunds.

Refunds

Deposits are fully refundable at any time before launch — just email us. If the product doesn't launch, we refund you.
